Mindfulness within yoga practice, is when we are focused on our breathing and our body’s reaction and action within the poses and yoga flows. Taking time to be one within the present moment of the movement, heartbeat, and breathing also causes a reaction within the nervous system. When the breath is slowed and controlled, we can enter a state of utilizing the parasympathetic nervous system (calming nervous system). When the breath is slowed and controlled you are allowing yourself to have a narrow focus on your current state.
Mindfulness can often be forgotten when we are rushing, or our mind is occupied with stress. This is where it is important to incorporate daily mindfulness practices.
How to practice mindfulness daily.
Taking a breath before diving out of the driveway, to become focused on the task at hand.
Slowing down when consuming foods and beverages enjoy each bite or sip of what you are consuming.
Remember you are only in control what you can control, your actions and reactions to your surroundings.
Gratefulness over taking for granted loved ones and life’s blessings.
May mindfulness be part of your daily life.
